Postgraduate Master’s Loan Scheme

A Postgraduate Master’s Loan can help with course fees and living costs while you study a postgraduate master’s course. Individuals will be able to borrow up to a maximum of £10,000 for the purpose of completing an eligible postgraduate master’s qualification. These non-means-tested loans are available to both taught and research master’s students. 

British Chevening Scholarships

These awards are to enable Overseas and EU students to study in the United Kingdom. To apply for a scholarship, you will need to contact the British Embassy or High Commission or the British Council in the country of which you are a citizen. The scholarships are offered in more than 150 countries. Details and the list of eligible countries are on the website. These scholarships are mainly awarded to Master’s students. 

Daiwa Foundation Tohoku Scholarships

The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation, in partnership with the British Council in Japan, launched a £250,000 scholarship fund in 2011 to support Japanese students in the Tohoku region, which was the most affected by the 2011 tsunami.. 

Marshall Scholarships

For U.S. citizens only, Marshall Scholarships are mainly funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and are overseen by the Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission. Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the UK. Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at UK institutions in any field of study.

Hammond Trust

Reginald Hammond OBE bequeathed money to be used to provide financial assistance for students of Asian origin who experience unexpected financial difficulties to complete their studies in the UK. The Trust is managed by British Council. For more informtion, email: Hammond.Trust@britishcouncil.org.

Professional and Career Development Loan (formerly Career Development Loan)

This is a deferred repayment bank loan to help UK students pay for vocational education or training. You can borrow between £300 and £8,000 to cover 80% of your course costs and expenses. The bank will approve a loan based on credit-testing. The School’s Learning Provider Number is: 2901.

Enhanced Learning Credit Scheme

The School is an Approved Learning Provider under this scheme (ID 4859), which is an MoD initiative to promote lifelong learning among members of the Armed Forces, who can apply for a proportion of their tuition fees to be met by the MoD.
