Description




The crisis in Syria remains a major human rights issue and a key challenge for foreign policy coordination.  This panel will review the prospects for international support to address human rights violations and impunity in the Syrian conflict.



The distinguished panellists include:

  • Ibrahim Olabi, Executive Director of the Syrian Legal Development Programme 
  • Melinda Rankin, Honorary Research Fellow, University of Queensland 
  • Noura Ghazi, Non-resident fellow at the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy & Executive Director of Nophotozone

This panel is part of the 7th Joint Human Rights Conference on Human Rights and Foreign Policy.  This international conference is co-organised by the Human Rights Consortium, University of London, the Human Rights Section of the International Studies Association (ISA), the Human Rights Section of the American Political Science Association (APSA), and the Standing Group on Human Rights and Transitional Justice, European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR).
