Vacancy: Part-Time Sessional Lecturer for Securing Human Rights Modules

Applications are invited for a part-time Sessional Lecturer for Securing Human Rights Modules, tenable from 1 September 2013 to 21 March 2014. The Institute of Commonwealth Studies in the School of Advanced Study is home to the longest-running interdisciplinary and practice-orientated human rights MA programme in the UK, and our students benefit greatly from the participation of visiting researchers and guest speakers. As well as direct teaching of sessions of the module, a key aspect of this role will be to make efficient and effective arrangements for suitable guest lecturers.

HRC Director Damien Short appears in film on fracking

Human Rights Consortium (HRC) Director Dr. Damien Short appeared in a short film about fracking which was made by Earth Focus. Dr. Short's interest in unconventional fossil fuel extraction and its human rights implications led to the establishment of the HRC's Extreme Energy Initiative , which brings together scholars, human rights practitioners, activists and policymakers.
