Code of Conduct on academic freedom and internationalisation launched at Parliament

Sunday 3 July 2022

HRC Co-Director, Dr Corinne Lennox, joined the Academic Freedom & Internationalisation Working Group colleagues at Parliament to launch a code of conduct on academic freedom in internationalisation. The panel discussed ways forward for meeting the challenges of threats to academic freedom in UK higher education institutions in connection with internationalisation processes.

The internationalisation of UK Higher Education (HE) presents both opportunities and risks to academic freedom and the academic community. The group launched a model code of conduct that can support UK HE institutions to work in partnership with their academic communities to meet these challenges. The goal is to adopt shared responsibilities and to deepen transparency and accountability across the sector.
